Successful Completion of Northern Heavy Industries’ Wagon Tippler Project——Boosting Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group’s Green Transformation and Industrial Upgrading
Great news has recently come from the Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group relocation project: The wagon tippler developed by Northern Heavy Industries (NHI) achieved a successful hot load test in the Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group relocation and upgrade project. This achievement marks a significant step towards the overall goal of constructing the new plant for Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group, and it also highlights NHI’s outstanding capabilities in heavy equipment manufacturing. Ye Long, Chief Engineer of NHI, and Wang Cong, Deputy General Manager of the Sales General Company, attended the commissioning and jointly witnessed this milestone moment.
In the production line of Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group, the wagon tippler, as the core of the raw material system, faced tight schedules and heavy tasks. The on-site service personnel from NHI demonstrated a high level of professionalism and dedication to ensure the operation of the wagon tippler. In addition, they also actively coordinated with the client, installation companies, and external partners to promote close cooperation among all parties, forming a strong synergy. Thanks to the joint efforts of everyone, the installation and commissioning of the wagon tippler were completed on time, ensuring the smooth progress of the project.
The wagon tippler at Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group is responsible for unloading and transferring 6 million tons of ore and 2.4 million tons of coal annually. This task plays a crucial role in supporting the production and operations of the new plant. The successful completion of the project has enabled seamless integration between Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group’s logistics and the Dazhou-Wanzhou railway, effectively bridging the “l(fā)ast mile” of clean rail transportation. This has created favorable conditions for Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group to reduce logistics costs and improve transportation efficiency.
The successful hot load test of the project fully demonstrates NHI’ strong capabilities and leading position in the field of bulk material handling equipment. The single-car and dual-car wagon tippler systems can adapt to different materials and railway vehicles, meeting the efficient unloading requirements under various working conditions and significantly enhancing operational efficiency and automation levels. The addition of container unloading functionality breaks the limitation of traditional wagon tipplers, which could only handle bulk materials in open wagons. This advancement provides strong support for Da Zhou Iron & Steel Group to achieve green and intelligent transformation and development. It also contributes to steel enterprises actively responding to the national policies of “bulk-to-container” and “road-to-rail”, developing green equipment and promoting the shift of bulk material transportation from the traditional “black” logistics model to an environmentally friendly “green” logistics model.
Looking forward, NHI will seize the opportunity presented by the establishment of the Liaoning Fangda Equipment Manufacturing Group to closely integrate internal and external strengths. Centered on our customers, we will practice the original mission of being a major national equipment manufacturer through concrete actions. We will continue to lead industrial development with technological innovation, ensure product quality and provide excellent after-sales service to safeguard the long-term operation of projects. NHI will actively participate in national frontier research and future industrial planning, with the goal of serving national strategic needs and regional economic development. By continuously enhancing our core competitiveness and fostering the development of new productive forces, we aim to contribute steadily to China’s modernization efforts with “NHI Power.”
